UGC Creator Contract Template
For UGC creators doing paid brand deals. Usage rights are the whole game, and most contracts don't cover them properly. This one does.
The most common way UGC creators get burned: delivering content, having the brand go quiet, and having no legal footing to demand payment or stop them from using the content. The second most common: brands running that content in paid ads for a year with no additional compensation, because nothing in the original contract prevented it. This contract closes both of those gaps, and a few more besides.
What's included
- Scope of work: deliverable count, format specs (length, orientation, editing), platform, and product to be featured
- Content approval process: how many rounds, what counts as a revision, and what happens if the brand doesn't respond within a set window
- Organic usage rights: which platforms, for how long, and what happens when the license period ends
- Paid advertising rights: separate fee structure for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and Google ads, by duration
- Exclusivity clause: whether you're restricted from working with competing brands, for how long, and what that restriction costs them
- Whitelisting and dark posting: additional fee structure if the brand wants to run ads from your handle
- Payment terms: deposit required before filming begins, balance due on delivery of final files
- Kill fee: what you're owed at each stage if the brand cancels after work has started
- IP ownership: all content stays yours until paid in full
- FTC compliance: which party is responsible for disclosure on which channels
